CARBON FIBER hood for 2003 tl type s?

so ive seen a tl on craigslist with a carbon fiber hood i was wondering where icould get one?

There's a guy selling it on ebay. From Canada I think. It was like $450 plus $150 shipping...or something like that.

i remember a member on here with a cf hood made by a company that i cant remember now. the cf was really thin, u can see daylight when u look through the hood.

vis hoods are like 700 or something, so 5-600 sounds like a good deal

paid $580for mine shipped. but heres the thing. they emailed me saying how long it all takes. they have a mold for the hood so each hood is made when they receive the money. getting the first cf hood for the tl made is gonna be expensive they they have to make a mold. then trial and error.

ive only seen cf hoods for 99-01 on ebay IF ONLY IT WAS for an 02-03 someonnnneee makeeee this happpen !

17 pounds is actually quite a bit, considering you are not losing anything as far as functionality goes


also that weight is kinda high up too, so you would get a lower center of gravity with it too

be careful buying from ebay. those hood are very thin and doesn't fit too well. i had alot of problems and needed custom work just to get it to fit

IMO Mr. Heeltoe is only gonna make custom parts, they already have hoods made for our cars so your luck with that wouldnt last long if anyone wants a HOOD made. I already asked him to make for CF fenders/door/trunk for me lol but of course everything takes time.

Group buys are mostly important, thats how we really get shit going!......

also i think he should make a version for us where the center section is raised a little, so the one's of us (or that want to make it work again with a comptech strut bar) that have the MDX intake spacer can clear the hood without having to pop it or trim it from underneth

^good thing its only a though. few years back a member contacted vis to make a hood for the tl. they say its not gonna be worth it for them to make a few hoods.
