Car feel stronger after replace with Yellow top battery?
My OEM battery die last week (only last 15min with car turn off and stock stereo on), I replace the stock one with Yellow top battery and to my surprise, the car feel stronger and more responsive after I installed the Yellow Top. Any one with Yellow Top battery experience that? Is it real? or it's just me?

ahh, another "... wow i really feel a difference ...". It's all in your head to help you justify the expense of something new. Oil change ... no difference. New battery ... no difference. Trans flush ... no difference. Spark plugs ... well maybe. Anyway, who cares ... if it will make you feel better then congrats on the yellow top.

However, you need to go through the proper idle learn process to establish a new base map. Then you go out and drive like a maniac, and this will tell the computer that you like to drive fast. Will it yield noticeable improvements? Well, if your car is moderately modified, then it could make a difference. However, if it's near stock, then I doubt there will be any noticeable changes.
This is especially true when you have an aftermarket piggyback system, like the V-AFC, Unichip, etc. that can override the fuel delivery. Over time, the PCM will notice the fuel delivery being pulled back by the piggyback system and will compensate, thus gradually returning to where it was before. So disconnecting the battery and clearing out the fuel map would restore the full efficiency of the tuning. (I haven't personally tested this "theory", but it's what my car genius friend told me. He's a division manager at an aftermarket tuning shop and is one of the best amateur racers I've ever seen, so I wouldn't doubt him. )
I remember one time I was at the drag strip last season, and it was pretty empty so I was able to make multiple runs. I believe I made well over 20 runs consecutively, and although my launch and shifting didn't change much, the times kept getting better. I would be hesitant to give full credit to the PCM adjusting to the continuous hard driving, though. It really could've been a different factor, or a combination of several things.

Except, there's a difference with an oil change for about the first couple hundred miles...

oil change does make my car feel smoother when accelerating but not faster. When I got my optima red top I didn't notice anything other than my bass hit harder than before(probably because old battery was just about dead). I agree with OU sig about disconnecting battery for a while and then going for a joy ride. My cars seems faster when I do that.

That's probably what happens. I did not expect to feel anything different when replace my battery, but it's just seem that way. Anyway, I love my car and can't get the mod. bug out of my head!

I once had a battery that was shorting out and causing all kinds of problems with my Chrysler Mini Van. The new batter took care of some of the engine running problems. Good post by Pure Ad
