Building my own exhaust... inputs on muffler please :)
Well just like title says, I'm building my own exhaust this weekend and wanna see what you guys think of it...
Headers are going on. Have a P2R test pipe, gonna come out 3" from there, to a 3" inlet, 2.5" dual outlet muffler. Run duals from there all the way back to 3" tips.
What you guys think?? How do you think this will sound?? What muffler you guys think I should go with?? I was thinking flowmaster 40 series....

Yeah, flowmasters are known to drone pretty bad and these cars have serious drone with a HFC or test pipe. Mine has two magnaflow mufflers and two resonators and it's still pretty intense on the highway. Just my 2 cents, I'd still have mufflers at the back even if you have a single to dual after the test pipe.

3" to 2.5 is too big. I would run 2.5 into the in one out 2 muffler then run 2.5. Thats what i did. Andi agree with womey, you will still want mufflers at the rear. It WILL drone a lot. Your best bet is to put in a Good round Magnaflow muffler/resonator after the cat, then a good Y pipe and run 2.25 to to nice magnaflow mufflers. (or put the Y first and squeeze 2 round smaller magnaflows and 2 nice magnas at the rear.

I also would recommend a 2.5" setup with a resonator and 2 mufflers in the rear section. You can honestly split the 2.5" to dual 2-1/4" mufflers in the back without hindering flow. This setup should minimize drone to a minimum and provide plenty of flow.

I've had magnaflow mufflers for years with an 18" magnaflow bullet resonators, headers and a RT HFC and it drones, but not that bad. It is loud though, but sounds like a stock car in tunnels= awesomeness!!!!!!!

from the cat the exhaust pipe is 2 1/4 to a 2 1/4 inlet exhaust resonator with a 2 1/2 outlet than into a 2.5 y with the rest of the system goes into the two obx mufflers ok

It's sounds real mean now, but I don't know if I would want to be in the car for a prolong trip on the highway. lol, my Tsudos axelbacks were just enough for me, any louder and it would have been too much.
