Bilstein Part Numbers? Which one is it?
I'm considering going with the Bilstein struts for their quality and warranty. Plus good feedback on this site.
I did some searching and found a member that installed Bilstein Sport struts and I assume we need the "Sport" model with our performance springs, but if we want a more smoother/comfortable ride, do we need to get the other model Bilstein strut B/HD model?? All the struts are on sale for $278.60 for front or rear pairs. Not a bad price. Check out the rest of the thread, some good info here, but not sure which one is best for me!
Part Numbers:
Bilstein Sport:
Front BE5-6580-H0
Rear BE5-6581-H0
Description of "Sports" from the site: "Bilstein shock absorbers, the performance minded driver, Bilstein SPORT SHOCKS deliver absolute mastery of the mad surface. Designed to push a cars suspension to its performance peak, these super-firm shocks are well suited for use with special springs, anti-sway bars or other suspension upgrades. As with other Bilstein shocks, SPORT SHOCKS are uniquely self-adjusting"
Part Numbers:
Bilstein B/HD Series
Front BE5-6578-H0
Rear BE5-6579-H0
Description from the site for this model: "Bilstein Shocks For most vehicles including full-size sedans, wagons and most trucks, these shocks provide improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride comfort.Their superior damping ability makes them ideal for heavy hauling or occasional off road use --- while still maintaining an exceptional street ride. As with all Bilstein shocks, these shocks instantaneously self-adjust to changing road surfaces. In addition, their performance does not gradually decline from age, use or heat --- requiring no compensating manual adjustments as with conventional multi-tube shocks"
