I agree with ....Too dark for my liking..
I did a very subtle tint on my tail lamps. Sanded them down and then
added a few drops of black to the clear coat before spraying them.

This was exactly how I had mine and I loved them but after getting pulled over 2 times one day I removed it.
If I can give the op some advice DO NOT use vht niteshades it goes on great the 1st time looks awesome but it fade in a year and if you try to take it off it will ruin your taillights a 5 dollar can set me back 150 for new taillights but some sort of lay if you're set on this.

I did to my black acura like the white TL above did, blacked the red left the white, looks clean. I used tint and had them done at a local tint shop, this way its removable at will

Did mine with film. It's looks great and can change or removed them whenever i want. Was thinking of spraying them but the thought of it being permanent was what made me go film.

I would be careful of using sprays. Preparing for paint usually would require sanding/scuffing or at least a harsh solvent to get desired effect.
Also aren't Floridas laws a little more easy on tint and such?

I took out my tail lights, cleaned the surface real nice, and then used night shades (the spray). if you have a steady hand and fluid motion while applying the lights should turn out great. Just have to make sure you do a good job! luckily if you fuck up it comes right off with some goof off.

How much do you think it would cost if I got my tail lamps tinted with film from a tint shop? Im not looking to go really dark, just as dark as Mr. Maker's TL up there ^^

buy some film and DIY, it's very easy. I run a tint shop up here and the cost of the film isn't expensive. Some shops around us charge any where from 60-100 bucks. Film cost lest then that and just DIY and trim the excess

Thanks, where would I get the film from? And if I just wanted the "smoked" look or just barely tinted like mr. maker's which percent should I use?
