Hey I just joined the site and currently serving in the Army in Iraq. I have 2000 tl non type-s and was wondering If I would be able to swap my auto tranny with a cl tranny, if it's possible would you please let me know... thanks

yes it is most definitely possible. if you know what you are doing it shouldn't be too hard. i also have a 2000 tl just like yours and am doing the swap...

yea i always wondered that too would it be possible to swap the tranny and to get the linkages, misc. parts and so forth without the whole engine swap..?

yes it is possible and has been done by many. i think joe is one, i know kris (ksuchdeve, 6mtUA5) and i think phee did it before upgrading to type s engine.

i just know that fsttyms1's thread was the shortest thread with the most pics.

might as well. i am. engine is only 300-800 depending on where you get it and what mileage you get. that will give you a chance to make sure the timing belt is changed, a valve adjustment is done and everything cleaned out. it'll be like having a brand new powertrain in your car. that's why i went the route i'm going.

The main reason everyone is swapping out the engine to is because Power an performance of what the J32A2 compare to J32A1. Richie told me if you swap out engine with J32A2 you can easy keep up or even better faster then some NEWER car. Even in limp mode my car it's feel like a beast. I cann't wait to get Vtec back.........

no, really you lose vtec because when you swap to 6spd, your car goes into limp mode because of sensors and other things. he's waiting on richie's harness that will rectify the issue and trick the ECU into thinking the auto is there.

The exact parts you need all depend on which route you go. Look in the DIY page you will see mine and the parts list. I would HIGHLY recommend going with the richie module. It will make things MUCH easier and cheaper.
