For anyone who has a lip kit

I was looking at putting one on my 01 TL, but many people have advised against it, saying that they get scraped around too much being that its lower to the ground then if I didnt have it. Is it going go get ruined, do most of you guys have to change your driving habits to avoid scraping it, I know going into driveways and such you gotta go slow but Im talking about everyday driving. Thanks!

^that's the real question

if stock height, no issue whatsoever

if lowered you might have issues on speed bumps or potholes, I hit a nasty one today and i felt like my car was going to fall apart :-(

I'm lowered at the reference height for Tein Basics and I have no problems with scraping over anything. The roads where I live are such garbage, full of pot holes and dips, other terrible things that resulted in one of my struts blowing after less than 15k miles and 1.5 years. 300 bucks later I have a new strut on order but hell if I'm ever buying Tein again. If it didn't feel so wrong I would have bought a new pair of koni sports for the front for the same price

i scrape my front lip all day .. everyday .. i scrape it going out of my own driveway as well. even if i go sideways up a steep driveway.. it still scrapes. the best thing to do is to go slow and go sideways.

being lowered i try swerving away from potholes to pop cans, as for driveways and speedbumps i approach them at angles vs straight on to save the paintjob in the middle of my lip.

from what ive heard the paint easily cracks on fiberglass because it is so flexible.

but i found this interesting article after a quick google search:
