2003 Acura TL-S just sitting

Newbie to the forum, I have an Acura with 209xxx miles on its 2nd tranny. It's been sitting outside since March of this year. What all do I need to do before I just jump in and start driving? Things like oil change, ect.

Oil and oil filter wouldn't be a bad idea. But the big issue with a car that has been sitting is usually fuel related. You should consider using new fuel to start it. But other than those conditions I'd also get new plugs. And if you want to be an over achiever use some throttle body cleaner and clean out the throttle body, and throw a new air filter in there. Next time you let a car sit that long try using some fuel stabilizer beforehand ("stable" is most common)

Also be prepared to get a battery too. Letting a battery sit and never charge will kill it. And if you haven't bought a battery in awhile don't be surprised when you see how much they cost now... $$$

Check your tires too, may have a flat spot and/or dry rot depending on conditions. It really should have been started up/ran every few weeks or so. Also check exhaust, undercarriage, and engine bay to see if any creatures made it their home.

I had my 2000 TL stored for a good 5 years before I was old enough and got a license to drive it. After changing the oil and filter and battery she fired right up like we just parked it last week. Since then I've change all the fluids except the brake fluid (it had an brake flush before it was stored) And still drives like how I remember it when i was a kid

As long as you pull your negative battery cable you should not have any issues with the battery dying depending on how old it is.

The battery will still sulfate though putting a trickle charger is the only way to keep a battery alive in storage.
