**Pics & Vids** TL-S: XS Headers Installed

it was quite a bitch to get these things in. getting the rear header off and on was the most difficult shit i had to do.

ill post some after pics when i can take some tomorrow. but here are a couple pics of the headers themselves. i know everyone knows what they look like, but wahtever, here are a few anyways.

Rev w/headers and exhaust

They were not all that hard to get on.. getting the original ones off was the biggest pain. Good thing I have skinny hands which allowed me to unbolt the rear header pretty easily

if you get them... im sure i'd help.

it wasnt really "hard", just time consuming. the only headers ive ever put on were on 4banger hondas, which are the easiest thing in the world. now you have to be a semi-contortionist to take off the rear header. the only part i really neede help on was on the header flanges. i couldnt hold the nut from the top while tightening from the bottom. but other than that... its a 1man job.

that doesnt have anything to do with it. the fitment was perfect. it was difficult because of the location of the rear header. no matter what the headers wre made for, itll alwasy be a bitch to reach back there. you have to reach around from the top and you cant see shit.

as in the exhaust is completely unbolted. which is why its so loud. after the header b-pipe, its open.

maybe im just deaf, but i dont hear a rattle. it sounds good to me. i do notice a little hollower sound. that could be cause its flowing more or cause of the cheap flexpipe i hear about. but im not sure what rattle you are speaking of. and i assume you are talking about the 1st vid... cause the second one sounds that way for a whole different reason.

the rattle that im getting with mine is the same as when you had it with the open headers. im told it is because the flow of the exhaust. i have my resonators removed and that is what im told is making the twangy noise.

what he said^^^

and it took a few hours. i wasnt really rushing though. my advice, before you start unbolting anything up top, make sure you can break the bolts on the cats. i needed an airgun to loosen them. and mine werent even rusted on, just really fuckin factory tight.

most likely same gains.......I don't think anyone has done a dyno to prove/or disprove.

But since the XS are a direct copy of the Comptechs I'd say its the same gains across the board for all headers.

yea it's about 150 shipped from power seller on ebay. i think his id is www.ssautochrome.com. that's pretty cheap compared to Comptech and still have pretty much the same gains.

Both these threads are from the CL side and show dyno's done with XS headers and a few mods. You will find a good show of power in the before and after.........Keep in mind though that these are for 6mt CL's, but they give a good point of reference as far as gains.
I don't know why but can't find any dyno for a TL-S.........maybe you'll be the first.

nothing much. it just sounds a little more like g35 or the Z. as for how loud it gets not really any louder. just sounds better and considerable increase in performance.
