Zaino Problems

I just finished applying two coats of zaino z-2. I followed all the directions in zainos tips and tricks, including using z-6. The car looks beautiful, however when I rub my finger across the paint, there seems to be small bumps(the size of a 1/4 grain of sand). It is all over the car, not just in one area. Does anyone know why these are here or how to get rid of them?

Sounds like surface contamianants.
How did you prep the car before putting on a Sealant/Polish like Zaino? Did You Clay? You want to start with the cleanest base possible, and a good claying and wash for a non abused car is the best way to do it.

All you have to do is clay it. The best clays out right now are zaino's and mother's.

You don't have a Zaino problem!

Yes but you have to rewax it. Let it be. Next time when you need to wax again, clay 1st. I am not a Zaino fan but the wax procedure should be similar.
Wash the car with dishwashing liquid, clay, then cleaner (What we call Step1) followed by Polish (step 2) then a hard coat carnabua wax (step3). This if done right should be a 2x a year process because it last a long time. Don't miss out on step 3 which locks in the gloss

Thumbs up

clay is the way to go. Just don't buy meguiar's clay bar. I like most meguiars products but have had bad experience with their clay bar. It's way too sticky and hard to use.

Mother's is a good clay bar, I've heard.

Does anyone else know if it is good to put a wax on top of zaino, or should I just zaino once or twice a month?

Yeah you have to clay it. As for maintenence, you don't want to put other waxes on Zaino...just do a coat of Z2 once every 2-3 weeks.

Yeah, clay bar is awesome.

Use dishwashing soap like Dawn to wash the car first. This removes the wax...so don't make it a habbit to use dish washing soap.

Then clay bar. This is a detailer's secret. This pretty much cleans stuff off and makes your car smoot again.

Then go ahead polish and wax or whatever your waxing process is.

Good luck man. Your arm is going to be tired. Recruit a family member or friend to help you.

CLAY BAR IS AMAZING. I just clay barred my baby. It makes it smooth as silk. It may sound perverse, but I just like to touch it it is so smooth. You can set a clean towel on it and it slides off like water.

While Zaino is easy to apply & remove, if you are willing to do this every 2-3 weeks you could also use a good wax like Meguir's #26 Hi-tech Yellow Wax --> looks absolutely awesome, and is the same amount of effort. I like the looks better than Z on my ABP, but the wax just doesn't hold up as long as Z. Then again, the biggest PITA, and most time consuming part in applying any protection is cleaning and drying!

Yup available in most auto parts stores. Should run you around $15 for the clay kit. Another really good brand is Clay Magic. I like their clay very much, 2nd to Zaino's clay. It is great.
