Yuk, green coolant!

Popped the rad cap today just to check the level and noticed the telltale residue of green coolant......

The last owner's mechanic must have been 'misinformed' about these cars when they did the belt job......

What would be the best way to 'flush' the system of green to replace with type2 coolant?

Best Way is to Flush Radiator + Remove the Bolt on the Backside of the Block! That will flush most of the Coolant in the System.. If you Flush Radiator Only thats like less than Half of the Coolant in the System, Most of it Rests in the Block.

As long as its type2 its fine. Yes Green antifreeze is/can be type-2. Honda dyes theirs Blue, Prestone and others dye it Green. As long as its not Red/Orange i wouldnt worry about it.

But if you are intent, make sure you pull the plug out of the block (in the rear of engine) and drain the engine block completely

Cool, that's what I thought - I appreciate all the feedback

Its gonna be time to do the upper and lower rad hoses soon, so I wanted to make sure everything was right, including fluids!

I use a green coolant in my 06 TL.
as long as its phosphate and silicate free.
