Yet more vibration issues . . .
Since installing my new rotors and pads a couple months ago, I noticed that I still get this distinct vibration when I am braking from 40MPH down to about 25MPH (nothing in the steering wheel though). Any other range in the spectrum, the braking is very smooth. I have had my brakes/rotors re-inspected and even swapped for yet another set, only to obtain the same results. Mechanic (and dealer) has no idea what it was but assured me that everything appeared to be just fine in the braking system. Well today I decided to pay close attention to this subtle vibration I get. I noticed that when I begin braking from about 55 MPH, the feel is very smooth until I get down to about 40MPH. From there, I see the tach drop as the torque converter disengages and right then and there the vibration starts and eventually stops as I brake further. A few more tests of this displays the exact same results. Is it possible that the torque converter disengaging will cause that kind of vibration to be felt through the car? And if so, is this normal? I do know for a fact that the car shudders when the torque converter engages, and under load it will continue to shudder slightly until I reach speeds well above 65MPH. I don't really pay it much attention because I know they are fairly weak on these cars within the 50-65 MPH range.
I am running out of ideas, any feedback would be of a great help!

I originally purchased a set of Brembo solid disks, and then from there I purchased a set of cross-drilled Brembo rotors. Same behavior on both set of discs, and also on two new sets of pads (OEM pads, and aftermarket PBR Metal Masters).

well to get to HIS question, if its not the rotors it may very well be something tranny related like you are talking about.you may want to bring it up with the dealer and bring them for a test drive and point it out for them. it could be the TC i havent heard of one doing that, but it is possible, it may be something in the tranny, and it also may be your tires. i have had vibraton issues while braking with tires before too.

I doubt getting Rotora rotors will solve the problem, especially since he's using Brembo brakes (quality rotors). Vibration usually results from uneven tightening of the wheel lug nuts. The lug nuts should be loosened, and then torqued to factory specifications in a cross pattern. This may or may not cure the vibration, depending upon how long you've been using these rotors. If they've been on the car for a while, i'm sure they are warped once again and you'll need to have them turned.
Another thing, Metal Master pads are horrible!!! (A little too harsh) Maybe you should try
something like porterfield R4-S pads.

type in acura and hit search... the BEST pads IMHO...

Thanks for all of the replies.
On my drive home from work I noticed that this resonance I am feeling from braking is very subtle on straight roads, but much more noticable on a downslope and/or some bends in the road. I'll keep my eyes open to all of this and let everyone know if I find the culprit. Who knows, it just may be a characteristic of the car (like the typical dealer would probably tell me).
