y pipe

has anyone here taken thier stock y pipe and painted it?

i want to paint it,its turning nasty orange rust color. and from behind you can see the y pipe in clear view even with my bodykit and comptech springs.

oh yea is it normal that the comtech exhaust flanges rusting? i mean complete orange.

I know some people of painted it. I think you need to get a high-temp paint. Sorry, that's all I can remember, it's been a year since I last heard about someone doing it.

yea just get some heat paint and clean every thing up and paint it.
my comptech flanges are doing the same thing

I painted mine all grey rustoleum. My car came from Canada so everything is rusted to shit. I'm gonna get around to painting it black though I think.... not sure yet.

high temp paint will do it. body shop oversprayed and turned my exhaust white. im gonna paint them if i dont get comptechs first

Use high temp black paint only. If you use the silver ones, usually it will rust over time. Make sure you sand the ypipe down and clean it before painting. I just did mine last weekend and it looks great.
