X-Pel Headlight (& Foglight) Protectors

I found the best price for X-Pel here:

http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?logout=1

Price is $44.95 plus shipping. They arrive across country in about a week.

I have them on my 2002 F-350 and now our TL.

They are fantastic!

Wow that's a good price. I get their catalog all the time and never noticed they sell Xpel.

I wish I had bought the kit for the bumper, hood and lights when I first got the car.

Question-waiting to check out

How do they adhere to the lens? Electrostatic? Do have they ever fallen off?

I applied the ones made by Stongard. They have pressure sensitive adhesive and you apply it with a squeegie and soapwater solution just like window tinting. Just make sure you line it up before you put it on. At least with the Stongard ones, i can tell you the thing sticks like the D|ckens and you cant move it once it hits the lens. The Xpel is thinner and probably easier to apply. I wasnt happy with the Stongard, because of how thick it is, it was impossible to get all the tiny bubbles out from under the adhesive even though i followed their directions.

Even after it dried fully you can see the tiny bubbles in a few spots around the edge if you look up close (looks like seltzer fizz). No biggie, they refunded my money in full when i wrote them to complain. They are nice for free through....

They use an adhesive. The procedure is to put isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol in a spray bottle at 3 parts water to 1 part alcohol. Spray and clean the lens surface with the solution. Spray your fingers, remove the backing and liberally spay the adhesive side of the x-pel. Put in place and wipe with the included squigee tool. It helps to heat the x-pel with a blow dryer to make the curves on the outside.

Easier than it sounds. I put them on my truck in the winter and it took almost two months for them to completely clear. They say a little fogging under the cover is no big deal, and it isn't, as it does evaporate.

My main concern in No. Nevada is sand and small debris pitting the lenses, though rocks are also a problem.

I just ordered a set. My car is two months old and I already have a stone chip on one of my fog lenses.
