Thumbs down Wow!!

As some of you know, I flat out sold my TL to the dealer for $21900 for a 2000 Taffeta White, body kit, and spoiler, and CD Changer. Today, I drove by there to give them the owner's manual and ran into my sales guy talking to a customer who was trying to buy my ex-car. They were asking $27,000 and the customer was asking me questions about the car.

Guess, what the dude told me...the dealer wouln't budge under $25,600. WTF. It's a used car, but I guess the TL's are still hot. I don't understand why someone would pay that much for a used car when they can add a couple thousand bucks and get a new one.

That's the only reason why I got a 2001, because the *******s at the dealership were selling a 2000 white 9000 miles for 28 and my parents got the new one... I only wish I waited longer to get my ride cuz I really didnt need a new car at the time, i was just unhappy with my 98 Rodeo 4X4... They gave me 12k for that and we put 8,000 and drove off the lot... If I only new, about tha 2002...Shyne

Most of the dealer mark ups are in used car sales, not new car sales. With new cars we know what the invoice is. With used cars, pricing is pretty much based on a car-by-car basis. I traded in my 1991 Civic back in '95. the trade in was $7,500. I went back a week later and it was stickered at $10,300. WOW, WTF? I only paid $10,500 brand new back in '91. I also know it sold to a teacher for $9,000 ( 22% markup).

Car dealers are like the stock market.... "buy low, sell high." They'll screw you just about every time on a trade-in, and rape someone else when they sell it. Damn shame.

Its sucks cuz they know that its easier for you to trade your car in then for you to sell it privately.

How dare they! Who the fvck does the dealer think he is putting you in the position of answering questions about the car. The car is the dealers, let him answer the questions.

If that customer bought it, tell the dealer he owes you part of the commision.
