My 18X8's fit my TL fine with a 1.5inch drop in the front and 1.25 in the rear. You don't need 18X8.5, but if that's the only option, I think it should be fine as long as you use 225 tires.

AC does it rub at all with four people in the car?

If you run a super high offset wheel like a SSR Agle Minerva that has a high offset and a super low disk, you can run a wider wheel.
http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collection.html
But if you run those cheaper brand of wheels that are universal it won't have a chance(usually offset only goes up to +44).
I used to have 18x8+43 w/235/35/19 and rear rubbed like a mother! BTW, you are gonna have to roll the fenders(F&R) no matter what.

Yeah it rubbed with a full car. My next option was to roll the fenders.

Oh man, the SSR site is up again! Those are the rims I was wanting too!

Damn they are soo tight! Too bad I don't have $4500 to spend on them and the shipping (in 19"s).

I plan on running 19x8.0 with an offset of +50. Should be fine with CT springs (which I don't have yet SnooK)... TLon19s has 19x8.0s and his offset is only +45. And he is also a crazy SOB with cut Nuespeed springs! Looks fvckin great though.

Those Agle Minervas are so tight I think I have to post the pic again.

This is the rim I was thinking about getting. The 18 only come in 18x8.5 so I hope it fits. Also how do you guys get pictures in here? I tried to paste it in but couldn't get it to work.

They don't show an offset on the web site I go to for the rim. What do you think I need for an offset? Any help would be great.

ok I called a rim shop and they said I would need a offset of 38. Does that sound right to you?

Sorry buddy! No chance +38 wouldn't even fit if you had a 18x7 rim. Let's put it this way I was running 19x8(+43) and it would rub even with my fenders rolled(F&R) so a 18x8.5 wheel, you would need atleast a (+50) offset. Usually these types of offsets are on custom wheels, 3-piece wheels and expensive high end wheels. Sorry.......

Your probably going to need at least a 45 if not 48 offset.. that should be okay.. any higher offset then 48+ then you should be good to go..

I looked on the web and they say they come in a 47 offset so thats good. The other question is they have this down (5X114.3) is that for the lug nuts and if it is, is it the right size? If it is I am picking these rims up very soon. Can't wait for the tax returns.

IMO,
+47 is not going to work!
the bolt pattern is correct.
If you do chance it and buy it you must get 225/35/19. but I'm pretty sure that it won't fit.
Ok let me explain something.
I had a 8" wide wheel with a +43 offset
and it didn't work.
so
with a 8.5" wide wheel with a +47 offset
is worst because 4mm of offset doesn't compensate for 1/2inch of width.
this is what I came up with
I'm running a 7.5" wide wheel with +44 offset
so to compare another wheel.
A 8.5" wide wheel you would need a +69 offset
because 1" is 25mm. (44+25=69)
GOT IT?????

Another thing let's not forget that it has to clear the springs and shocks and turning ratio!!!!!!

Tann, I think your calculations are wrong. With the same offset and you add an inch to the width of the wheel you are only adding a 1/2" to the inside and outside. To have the outside edge of the wheel remain the same you just have to add 12.5 mm to the 44 mm. Does that make sense?

You said "225/35/19" I am trying to get theses rims in a 18 not a 19 so would that make a difference?

alanakusa,
You are totally right (about being 1/2")
+56.5 offset!!!!!!
Also this equation is set for my wheels, all brands are built differently, even if the offset is the same.
Donte99TL,
I'm not exactly sure on the tire sizes but you would want to run something as close to your stock diameter (225/40/18)?? maybe, try and check the search feature on tire diameter, I know someone post the diameters for 16-19" wheels and tires.
Finally,
I can't think of any differences in 18-19" wheels if the overall diameter is the same.

Thanks for all your guys help. I really appreciate it. I found the best price for the rim not to far from me. $2100 with tires installed. Can't wait. Here is a pic of the rim.
