Exclamation Wood Trim question

Just a quick question on installing the wood trim (specifically the A/C Vent Trim)

Is there any specific "prep" work I need to do for the surface area it gets glued to?

I'd appreciate (big time) a response from someone who has already done this or other trim work.

Thanks......Dan...

Smile just clean the surface

All I had to do before I put on my woodgrain is clean the surface with some special cloth that came with the woodgrain kit. I got it from exoticwooddash.com. All it said to do is clean the surface well and then place it on there and heat it with a hair dryer. hope this helps.

The best way to install wood trim is to make sure that the trim pieces are very warm and the surface to be covered is very clean. I did mine on a hot day, left my trim pieces on the sun-baked dash to warm-up (I can't over-emphasize the importance of this!), cleaned the surface to be covered with rubbing alcohol, and then cleaned it with the adhesive prep solution that comes with the wood trim. Press fit the pieces into place so that you know how you want to center it and apply it. Remove the adhesive backing and apply the trim piece starting from one end of the piece and working towards the other. Make sure you put it on straight the first time, because the adhesive sticks instantly and you get no second chances to bend, twist, or push the piece into its final resting place.

good luck!
