Wondering = TL Redesign?
Just drove a Type-S for the first time today. WOW is this a nice car. Just stunning.
Does anyone have any insight as to when the re-designed model will debut? As an example, I'm aware that the current body Nissan Maxima is in it's last year which to me, makes it less desirable (not that it's a match for the TL Type-S), but hopefully you get my point.
Thanks in advance.

Honda is usually pretty good at keeping that type of info secret so it's probably anyone's guess at this point. Since the current body style is only a few years old, I'm guessing that a significant exterior redesign would be at least 2-3 years away BUT that's just my guess.

Well, I think that the complete redesign for this model will happen for the 2004 model year. Acura "refreshed" the design of the TL in 2002 and continued that through to 03. Also, if im not mistaken, Acura will introduce the 04 model in the fall of 03 as is normal for most other car manufacturers.

I think several of us read recently that the 2004 model would be redesigned and most likely come out in the fall of '03. Speculation is that it will have a more European look. Other than this, Honda has kept a good wrap on the news. I know the 2003 model release last month caught me by surprise, having purchased a 2002 on January 5.

The one thing I wonder here is that the Accord is due for the re-design. Not sure if the TL and Accord were on the same chassis in the first Gen, but have the Accord and TL been on identical changeover schedules in the past, or has the TL lagged a year.
To me, it doesn't make sense for Honda to introduce both models at the same time, especially considering their conservative nature. I'm also not sure how closely the cars' production lines are tied together. I know they're both built in Marysville, OH. But do they come off the exact same line?
The other bogey here is that we're not sure if the TL will continue to be based on the Accord. Or are we?
