window regulator question

I need a driver side window regulator for my 2002 TL. Only place that can get one is Acura. Does anyone know if a 99 CL will work? Theres one in my local salvage so that would be nice. Thanks for any help.

Consider that you would be buying a used regulator from a car older than yours, and your 2002 regulator broke already. And if the used one comes from the driver's window of the 99 CL, that is the one that receives the most wear by far....

And I believe it is usually a plastic piece that breaks on the reg, and the older the plastic, the more brittle & weak it becomes....

Then consider they are not much fun to change out yourself, and a shop will probably charge an hour or 2 of labor to change one out......

Are you really going to end up saving any $$ by going with a old used one?

Simply Google and cross reference the part #. More than likely it would fit, but unless you're getting it for cheap
and enjoy tearing the door apart yourself.....I tend to agree with AlanW, go new for a few bucks more to know
ya won't have to do it again !

The TLs have a slightly different regulator for each of the 4 windows.
PartsGeek.com has great prices, they have the window regulators for the TL, but they are just a little less than the Acura ones. Order from one of the sponsered Acura parts places & get a discount on the real Acura reg

turns out It was just a bent channel guide so no need for a regulator... But tearing the door apart was not the horror story everyone thinks it is. Literally took me about 15 minutes. All-data makes it very easy. But the money difference is stark $212.83 vs $15.00 and I could swap over the not broken parts from my regulator or vice-versa take the good part I needed from the salvage yard reg and swap it into mine.... Either way this is all just hypothetical now, which I'm thankful for! Thanks for the input!
