Cool Will it make my car loud??????

I have been searching the forum on a way to make my car's exhaust a bit deeper sounding and i have been tinkering with the idea of removing my exhaust resonator. I know fsstyms has done it and he said the tone got Deeper... but will it be droning? and will it get too loud? i just want a nice low hum like the 07. i know i may not get exactly that, but something along the lines would work.
so what should i do EXCEPT get an AM exhaust.
thanks

Just pull your headers out. That'll give it a nice deep growl.

if you want to keep your stock mufflers, take out the mid mufflers and replace them with an aftermarket dynomax bullet resonator and some piping.

headers are good. they sound great when you step on it, good hp improvement and inexpensive too (XS headers).

searching the forums, i have heard mixed reactions about removing the resonator. some said it sounds closer to the G35 sound. others said that it drones, is buzzy or simply sounds like crap and regrets the mod.

but i think an AM exhaust is the direct way. and ill give you a few extra hp.

i have also heard high flow cat is also another option. hope this helps

Seriously, you need to search more. There have been alot of people who have done this, not just me. With the stock mufflers it wont drone. If you do it and then add aftermarket mufflers it will.

Thanks razz
aznboi: there is NO drone, it sound real nice, real suttle but people notice and the car sounds mean, feel a bit more peppy. i removed the 2 MId mufflers, the big one and the little one and replaced with test pipe
Lush:I would assume a type S would be a bit louder but probably the same note

i've been looking to do this myself and been reading some threads. it's suggested that you do both the mid muffler and the resonator. and it's also said that the bigger one will yield a more noticeable difference. that's what i plan to do, the bigger one. problem is, no one said what the bigger one is. i dont wanna walk into a muffler shop and go "i wanna remove the bigger of the resonator and the mid muffler" cause i dunno what to expect. maybe it varies from car to car or something

Do a search. There's tons of good threads with pictures/info. Make sure you know what you're removing before you take it to a shop to remove it. The place I took it to asked me to show them what exactly I wanted to take out. I only ended up taking out the big one. The Type-S has a nice growl to it. It's loud enough that I hear it in parking structures, but it doesn't set off alarms. The drone is really minimal at only certain RPMs. Turn up the system and you can hardly notice. After a while, you get use to it anyways.

well everyone around town was saying 75-80 dollars. so i went to menieke and they charged me 45 but they took 40. So it reallys houldnt be more than 45 bucks, ive seen people who got it done for 20, but you want to make sure that the pipe is supported correctly because the resonators have a thin piece of metal holding them to the underbody.

Midas was trying to rip me off....charging me 100 dollars for the piping. Thats not included labor either. The owner was an ass cause he was treating me like a dumbass that knows nothing. So, said screw you and left...lol

No offense but it sounds like total crap.. if you even bothered to search, you would've found out that ppl suggested *ONLY REMOVING* the mid-muffler resonator and not the 1st/front resonator.. as removing both of them will give you a ricey sound.. and the sound will only get worse when and if you decide to add an aftermarket exhaust.

If you want a deep, nice, exhaust tone.. dun be a cheapass and spend the $$ to do it right the first time.

i posted a video, you can hear that it doesnt sound ricey at all. AND I REMOVED BOTH. let the video be proof. And i dont appreciate you calling me a "cheap ass" i definitely got the EXACT sound that i wanted and didnt feel like adding a big ass muffler set up. theres a difference between being cheap and being smart about your money. I feel sorry for those who spend upwards of 200 dollars to gain 3 hp. Thanks for the 2 cents

03aspec: i read that it helps your car recalibrate the A/f mixture due to the new conditions. Some people do it every season to get their cars ready for the different blends of gas.

Doesn't sound too bad! I was thinking about doing this but figure I better save the money so I can buy the Tanabe SHM cat-back. It may seem like a waste of money, but it sounds so nice.

Actually, from what I've read through search, the small resonator being removed doesn't hardly do anything, so it doesn't really make too much of a difference if you remove both. Just as long as you remove the bigger one. It's a simple cheap mod and I'm glad you're happy with it. It really is a nice tone and as long as it doesn't set off alarms, I can't complain. As long as you keep the muffler stock, just think of it as giving voice to the true beast within >) All natural baby hahaha.
