I couldent belive this.. i just got home from work. i was sitting at a light in my brand new 2001 TL and thease 2 punk kids about 16 or 17 years old are sitting in an older dropped integra. (pre the current body style maby 93) anyway they are sitting at the light revving the piss out of his engine. he had AEM stickers on the side windows. he was looking at me and revving i would say about 5k RPM's and punching it from there in short burps. like burrrp burrrp burrrp. anyway i couldent belive this kid was trying to take me on. there was a car in front of each of us at the light and he tried a stupid manuver past the car in front of him. i wound up behind him as the next light was turning green and he went and so did i from behind. well i passed him and when we were rolling to the next light (my turn) he was behind me and keeps revving at me like he won or that he was trying to prove his car was this great acura to be worshiped or somthing. so I decide what the hell i have some time on my hands and i take off up the hill and he follows. we get to the next left and i turn. he makes a u turn and heads back to the light i missed my turn on and as i wind my way through the neighborhood the back way we cross paths again at an intersection. now he pulls over to the side of the road and i stop along side him and say "dude that car couldent race its way out of a wet paper bag! who the hell are you trying to impress anyway? you got a wussy 1.8 litre 4 banger and i have a 3.2 litre VTEC! and if you ask me your car is a total peice of shit!" so he goes "oh yea well lets find a light and you can prove it! and his buddy is all psyched up so we head back to the street we were just on and wait for a yellow then we line up. of course he is revving like mad! the light turns green and as i was totally expecting i smoked his ass we were even for about 2 seconds as i ate up first gear. then when i hit 2nd i was pulling like crazy on him. i waved goodby at them as i heard him grind the hell out of 2nd gear. then i am about 4 cars ahead when i hear him really grind the hell out of third gear. thay kid will likely need a new tranny and engine soon.

Why is it that when a dumb ass kid gets a fart can exhaust and an AEM they think they are untouchable?

I dident mean to be mean by calling his car a POS but really why the hell would someone try to show off to a car that is worth 7 or 8 times more than their own car?

it's times like thease that i miss my prelude a kid like that never would have tried to race my lude they just know better!

I hate ricers who think their car is the sh1t too. This has happened to me many a time. As with my friend. One time we laughed at anohter loser's can and said "nice car" and he ended up throwing a bottle at my friend's car. We reported him to the police... that loser. I've smoked way too many wannabe ricers. Sometimes the rice can just lines up half way behind my car at the stop light cuz they're afraid to race. especially riced out civics.

I think I would have desisted from the temptation to race even if a "punk" were to rev his engine beside me....I probably would not have even noticed the fellow revving...and by not racing, you take away the thrill from his "hunt"...

My buddy from my college days has an NSX, and when he finds a punk in a Camaro beside him at a stoplight who revs his car at him, he laughs...and then when the light turns green and the punk takes off like a rocket, he waves the punk on, laughingly..... does the punk feel good about it ?!!! Does he truly think that he has beaten the NSX ? I would think that the punk would be frustrated further...

Basically, I would think that you are not driving a street-racer now.... and refrain from being allowed to be baited by punks...

I agree, it's fun to have some racer punk floor it out of a stoplight and then slam on the brakes after a few seconds when he realizes you're didn't take the bait.. and because there's either (a) a cop car on the corner 2 blocks down that he hadn't noticed because he had been too busy revving, honking and flashing his high-beams, or (b) a patch of ice at the bend in the road, you know, right near where that mailbox used to be before it got taken out by some out-of-control car.

D'OH!

These two incidents really happened to me, in my old '94 automatic tranny, no-mod, no-VTEC Integra LS no less... Why they thought I would race in that (even if I had been the racing sort) is beyond me...

I hate it when they do that. some kids from my school drive Civic or some crappy rice-boy car and tried to race me, I totally killed them... dude, there aren't many cars that can beat the TL in my school, a CamaroSS, a Mustang GT, a 300ZX Twin Turbo, and a Porsche 944 might, but that's all.

LOL, this reminds me of the days. I used to cruise around in my champaigne camry station wagon looking for civics and integras to tear up. I'm sorry, but the camry can be made a hot-rod. And the looks of civic drivers when they got toasted by a granny wagon. HAH.

I just don't give those neon's, civic's, teg's and hyundai's (yes hyundai! )the luxury to race me anymore. You just come to the point where you are tired of beating them over and over again. So i stick with those close to my size like camry's, avalon's, millenia's, diamante's, monte carlo's, etc. Those are the ones i enjoy the most!
