OK, here we go again.
In BC (and most likely all other jurisdictions), your vehicle is required to have an orange reflector mounted close to the front of your vehicle and a red reflector mounted close to the rear of your vehicle.
These reflectors have to be of a certain size and be visible from the side of the vehicle.
The actual signal bulb can be: Front - clear / amber Rear - red / amber.
Clear/white signals in the rear are illegal.
Clearing your headlights (ie, opening up your headlight and removing the orange reflector) is illegal and could possibly cost you a VI.

thank you for clearing (no pun intended haha) that up. man it was just killing me to find out.
but has anyone replaced the side marker bulb with one of them chrome/silver dipped bulbs? they're supposed to mask or soften the brightness of the light? i don't like how bright the amber is right now.

I got clear corners & white signals on my TL, and I have not been pulled over yet. Passed lots of cop cars and they don't give me any problems. However: I have been told that if you spend a lot of time driving around Richmond, you WILL get pulled over eventually. Richmond cops have zero tolerance for any illegal mods. As I don't go to Richmond very often, it's not really a problem for me.
UA5: your friends got pulled over in their civics? I bet your friends mod their car a lot right? It's unfortunate, but modding one's car to the extreme is a cop magnet. They will nail you for any infraction.

question for all u 604ers who've changed their DRL/high beam lights to whites, what wattage are you using now? i would assume most of you using 65W (stock is 60W) rather than 100W? cuz unlike down in the states where they don't have DRL, it would be running all the time for us and the increased wattage wouldn't be good in terms of generating heat in the harness and wiring and for the bulb life right? i just thought of that now and i'm leaning to 65W...perhaps the Eurolites Xenon Fusion cuz i've read lotsa positive reviews on this site n they're only $29Cdn. any TLers here used those? if so, how long have they lasted?

here's a link to the motor vehicle act~!!
Parking lamps
4.10 (1) A vehicle may be equipped with 2 parking lamps, mounted on the front of the vehicle, that are capable of displaying only white or amber light.
(2) A vehicle may be equipped with 2 parking lamps, mounted on the rear of the vehicle, that are capable of displaying only red light.
[en. B.C. Reg. 476/98, s. 2.]
so as per (1), that means clearing ur corners at the front is ok but cops give tickets for that?!?
Licence plate lamp
4.16 (1) The rear licence plate of a vehicle must be illuminated by a lamp that is capable of displaying only white light so that the numbers on the licence plate are legible from a distance of 15 m to the rear of the vehicle.
(2) The lamp required by subsection (1)
(a) must illuminate whenever the headlamps or parking lamps are illuminated, and
(b) must not project white light to the rear of the vehicle.
[en. B.C. Reg. 476/98, s. 2.]
so i guess switching out my stock halogen with a hyperwhite is ok! :p

Remember that this section also applies:
4.02 (3) All lamps, lamp bulbs and reflectors required or permitted by this Division must comply with
(a) the approved standards established by the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Canada) and the applicable SAE standards,
So, as long as the bulb is SAE approved, then you can use 'hyper white' in the licence plate lights.

Currently i have eurolite xenons for my DRL but they just look like regular halogen but a bit whiter since the DRLs are not run at full current / voltage

does anyone use or have used the Philips Bluevision or Weathervision bulbs for fogs? if so, did you purchase them locally? some of our american friends got theirs from wal-mart but before i spend 30mins driving out to one here i just wanna be sure. thanks.

crap i drove for ages to find a wal-mart only to find only 1 left on the rack (3 if u count the opened packages) and they had nothing in the back. it was my 1st time inside one of those places and right away when i stepped inside i wasn't liking the big box feeling...like the size of 10 frickin warehouses. and the service really sucked a$$. anyone know where else i can get those philips bluevisions?????
