Who here install their own spoiler? I need tips.

I bought one recently & want to install it in a few days. Those that have installed their own spoiler, do you have any tips on helping me do my own install?

Put masking tape all over your trunk where the spoiler pedstals would touch the car, and also over the drill sites. That will help prevent scratches from when you are postioning the spoiler.

Use magic markers to draw your outlines since the marks will just wasjh off with water, and once everything is lined up, just peel the tape off.

Thanks but I have those instructions. I just wanted extra info from those that have installed their own.

I installed mine on X-Mas using Mr Hyde's tips. Thank you sir.

From the instructions on https://hondacura world.hostasaurus.com/Merchant2/instructions/tl/RearWingSpoiler.pdf (no space between hondacura and world), it says to also use a template, cap nuts and rear protectors for the installation. I bought my '00 TL spoiler painted from www.spoilerdepot.com . The instructions call for using the "set screw method" and I think the instructions provided by the link above seems to be easier. The problem is that I do not have a template, cap nuts or the rear protectors because they were not included with the oem replica spoiler. Instead I had 4 set screws, 4 phillips screws, gasket material, 4 washers, and 4 lock washers, along with the spoiler and the wiring harness coming out of it. There are also two red plastic things that have "3M" engraved on it and I think it has something to do with the wiring harness. The instructions were also not very clear as it did not even give directions on how to connect the wiring harness for the LED brake light. For now, the spoiler is sitting in my garage until I find out what I really need to do (which instructions to follow) to get the spoiler mounted. It would be great if someone replies with the experience of installing a replica TL spoiler with the parts that came from www.spoilerdepot.com Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
