Post who this dropping in a type-s engine is a bad idea?

i think so far everyone is telling me that dropping in a type s engine isn't the smartest thing to do. Don't know why though? I just hate gettin smoked by the cl type-s.

Certain mods will get u there, but if you've got that kinda money, you should be trading up to the new M3.

if you're seriously thinking about this don't go for a type-s engine. You can easily get that power from the Comptech upgrades. Spend the money doing something special.... like getting a turbo in there and seriously smoking a CL-S. Then you can let us know exactly what you did and we can do it too

Would you even be able to get a Type-S engine to begin with?

If you did, the Type-S also has a slighty different Tranny.

With the amount of money you're lookin at...I'd use it as a down payment on a S4.

You dont need a Type-S engine...

If you have the money to pay for the labor... or the skills to do it yourself.

All you need is the different Trottle Body, Intake Manifold, and the Type-S has lighter pistons or sleeves or something like that.

Then you just needa upgrade your exhaust system... and voila. You got yourself a Type-S.

If you were smart though... you would save yourslef a whole bunch of dough and just get a CL or TL Type-S from the factory. Along with the speed you would get a tighter chassis... and all the tiny goodies that come along with the 01 CL and 02 TL territory.

I am not sure about future Type-Ss but the current one has the exact same 5-speed transmission with the exact same gear ratios as the current TL....

no one is ever the BEST driver..or the PERFECT driver...we saw a recent racing hero die....and he was HELLA PRO. You can always get better at driving...and then buy your NOS
