Where is the Trans cooler located?

An ATF cooler wont fix an Internal Design Flaw tough.. ATF Temps have nothing to do with our Issue... Its lack of Lubrication.

Sure it wont hurt, but a trans cooler WILL NOT help the design flaw these trans have. Heat/fluid temp isnt the issue, getting enough fluid to the 3rd gear clutchpack is the issue. I had 4 failures with a trans cooler. The line that the external filter/oil jet connect to is also the line that you attach to for an external cooler.

Locate the ATF Filter below the Engine Air Filter tube.
You should see a Metal tube coming out from it that goes into a small rubber hose and re-enters a metal tube into the Trans housing.
Remove the Rubber hose and connect your ATF Cooler rubber line send it to the ATF Cooler and send it back into the Inlet tube to the housing = Done..
If you have a Jet Kit installed then it would look like my setup:

Here is the Original Jet kit for +04 Trans:

Mine is Modified for it to Use it with an External ATF Cooler tough.

^ The Oil Jet was for what the Recall was for. It sprays trans fluid ont he 2nd gear shaft to keep it cool. It however has nothing to do with the 3rd gear clutch pack issue everyone is plagued with

Yes the ATF Cooler is in front of the Radiator (But not Zipptied into it) you can run the ATF Rubber hoses pretty easily trough a small gap just in front of the Battery (Big Enough for 2 Hoses).

Only the 99 had the trans cooler built into the radiator and lines to go to it.

The cooler is a peace of mind regardless whether you have tranny problem or not. Cooler fluid is always better for the fluid service life itself; even on 2013 models, add one if it doesn't have one. Even engine oil cooler, if it is not too hard to add one, I would add one too. I guess anything that can keep under the hood cooler is better.
