Where does everyone get their tranny fluid from?

I know you can get them at the dealership, but what other options are there and what good brand are you guys using? Another question is where do you pour the tranny fluid cause i cant find an area to do so, can you just pour it in where the you pull the dipstick out of? might sound like a noob but i searched this forum and cant really find the answers thanks.

have you looked in the DIY section here is the list
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/new-official-2nd-gen-tl-diy-thread-706083/

there is a large bolt on top of trans- look down in front of brake master cyl lines--has ATF stamped on it
or if you have the original trans with external oil jet kit in that atf filler- remove 1 bolt and lift unit out
can use filler tube but VERY slow in comparision

you can run honda zr1 the original stuff if dealers still have
they have switched to dr1 something like that
avail at honda for cheaper than acura dealer
or online stores to buy in bulk,,one of our sponsoring dealers
or many import parts stores

see the fluid threads on redline atf as an alternative depending on your situation and trans condition

I bought a case of the new stuff from a Honda dealership in Dover, DE.

It was $6.79 x 12.

They stopped making Z1. Your only option is DW-1 or if dealers still have Z1 on the shelf. I get it from the Honda dealer about same price as mentioned above.

The part number for a QT of ATF-Z1 is 08200-9001.

Curry Acura Parts ships Fedex free on all orders, regardless of size.
They are selling ATF-Z1 for $5.51/QT shipped right now.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214999

Just enter the part # directly into the search box on screen mid left.

don't mix atf. stick with oem. don't change ATF too much 2nd gen TLs don't like that. I only change ATF once after 30,000 miles or 36 months and still on original tranny with no problems. I know 30k seems a lot but it works for this car at least for me.

Wow! I might have to pick up a case of Z1. $66 delivered?

I'm sure an 11 year old Acura with 175K on it wouldn't know the difference!
