Where do you change your oil?

Do you always have it changed at dealership or go to jiffylube or wut?

Another do-it-yourselfer, though if I'm in a pinch, to the dealer. I have more faith in the dealer doing it right then someone at a random shop.

Been doing it myself on my driveway. I'd be depressed if I didn't have a flat driveway to work on, it would make things much harder. I just use Chevron 5w30 and OEM filter works fine for me.

If you aren't going to do it yourself, have the dealer do it. I hate Jiffy lube with a passion. They also use Penzoil/Fram filters, which are the worst filter on the market.

For those that have the dealers change your oil, how much is that?

color doesnt mean any thing. i have my oil tested every other or so oil change to see how it and the engine are doing and there is always alot of life left to the oil when i get teh results back.

I get it done at the dealership and keep the invoice for the cars records. It helps when you want to sell your car becasue it proves the car was properly maintained.

Dealership for me too. I don't need an appointment, and i'm usually in and out in a half-hour. I don't know if everyone gets this level of service, but I've given the service department plenty of sales through Comptech installs, new customers, etc.

ive gone to dealership all the time, about 35 bux every oil change. Car manual says to do service in intervals of 7500 miles, 3500 for "serious" driving conditions.

In the street in front of the house; I park over an old vinyl shower curtain so I don't mar the road with oil splash. Mobil 1 and K&N filter.

Mobil 1 in the driveway. I had our SUV changed at one of those quickie oil places before and they ripped the splash guard off - literally ripped the plastic off from two bolt holes. Plus for the price of dino oil at the cheap place, you can do it yourself with synthetics.

I work in a shop, pay my mechanic $10 about every other time to do it...plus oil and filter of course. Would go to the dealer if I didn't have my situation.

at a Quick Lube place, always ask for the bottle, not out of the tank, don't trust that stuff. Also get a free car wash out of it for $25 bucks.
