What's the deal with the recall and extended warranty?
The obvious question that comes to mind is if I have to bring my 02 TL-S in for a diagnostic to see if the tranny is stable.
Next, has anyone gotten a new car out of this? What's the deal?

Well, i know someone's gunna come on here and say "use the search button buddy"... buy I got class my friend:
I received a letter in the mail a week ago saying my tranny was covered for 7years/100K miles... i also went to www.acura.com and went to the owners link, typed in my VIN, and it also verified that my car was in fact covered. If you transmission isn't acting weird now, and you haven't had it replaced yet, i suggest you type in your VIN on the www.acura.com site and see if your car is included in the extended warranty campaign. If it isn't, then I would contact Acura headquarters and ask to speak w/ a rep, that is, if the service manager at your dealership is of no help.

Just as a side note: My 03 TL-S was not covered by the warranty when I checked the website so I thought I was in the clear.
Well, the car's at the dealer getting a new tranny as we speak so if your car is supposedly not covered, I would still take the car in if the tranny has any hint of slipping, etc. . .
Acura still hasn't solved the problem

FYI... my letter came last week.
Just keep in mind that just b/c the letter has come yet doesn't mean you're not covered. IF you go to acura.com and sign up in the Owner's Link section.. it will tell you right away. The paper really means nothing. If it says you're covered on their site.. then it's in their computers and you're fine. But if you need the letter... it should be on the way....
If you are not covered and you have a problem I can almost guarantee that Acura will end up covering you... so no worries there either....
