What size are they? (Speakers)

I've looked at a bunch of different websites and I keep getting different answers ranging from 5.25" to 6.5"...

So what are the sizes of the front and rear speakers?

To clarify, I have a 2003 tl type s non-navi
Thank you

Don't worry about the size, you can fit 8" speakers in there if you like. You just have to trim the border around the panel's inside grille if you go bigger than 6.5". The size of the speaker hole in the door is a little small. Make a cardboard template of your new speakers and trace it (centered) around the hole. Use tin snips and cut the excess metal off. No need to use a dremel.

The only thing you need to worry about is the depth. You have about 2.5" from the door mounting surface to the glass inside the door. And you can use about a 1.25" spacer between the door mounting surface and your speaker.....thus giving you approx. 3.75" of total speaker depth (from the back mounting surface of the speaker).

Thanks everyone, would these work okay with the depth?
Amazon Amazon

If they won't, what are some speakers that you would reccommend? I'm looking for something not excessively expensive but not cheap either. (under $400)

They have a 2.5" mounting depth so they fit no problem. Just use a 1" spacer so that most of the speaker gets lifted inside the grille area. It reduces the chance of water dripping on it inside the door.

Specs are here:

I actually have those speakers in my TL. They come with a spacer so they fit perfect right out the box.

If only all manufacturers did this. I had to buy spacers for my 6.5" speakers, but they were a bit short. So I modified the stock white spacer by cutting the spacer ring out and piggybacking it with my other spacer. I was left over with the stock rain basket-protector thinggy...so I used silicone to attach it on the magnets of the speakers.

From: Baja, México.

But that only works if your Speakers doesnt have an angled Frame (To re-use the Plastic Frame + Aftmkt Spacer) I tried to do that with my JL C5s but the Angled Frame that Holds the Magnet was just too bad for the plastic Basket...

In my Experience:
Any 5 1/4 will fit with Little Modificaction on the OEM Plastic Basket
Most 6 1/2 will fit on the OEM Plastic Basket with some Major Modification.. (Basically all <100 Bucks will Fit)
NONE 3" Depth 6 1/2 will fit with ANY Mod on the OEM Plastic Basket... (Most +200 Bucks Will be a Challenge)

So basically Most High End gear or Expensive Comps will need A Custom Bracket/Spacer...

They are good, really depends on your head unit.

Had them in my accord with a cheap single din kenwood, couldn't turn the bass up much with out it distorting.

Got a higher end double din HU (kenwood also) with them in my TL and I can turn the bass all the way up and they sound really good, esp for the price.

They would sound 100& better if you got a amp for them . The power HUs put out is very weak.

Hmm alright well yeah I changed out the cheap kenwood headunit that came in my car (got the car used) and I just put in my Sony WX-GT77UI from my old car which worked pretty well with previous kenwood speakers. So I guess I'll see how it goes lol
