What is a good RPM to run at?
I just got the car a week ago, and I was wondering what is an exceptable RPM to run the engine at? I do not want to hurt my baby. I don't really understand the "VTEC." Oh if anyone knows about the Honda SiR, is it faster than the TL Type - S? I raced one and beat the thing no problem.

anything below red is safe.
high rpm's for better acceleration and lower gas mileage
low rpm's for just cruising around and saving $$ on gas
VTEC engages fully around 5500 rpm's (please correct me if I'm off on that). That's where the bulk of your acceration takes place.
Your driving style will determine where to keep your rpm's.

VTEC activates at 4400 RPM for non-Type S models and 4800 RPM for Type S models. The intake manifold magic on Type S models happens at 3500 RPM.
This information is straight from Acura, kids.

I'm not watching the tach too much, but leave it in D5 and at 50MPH mash the gas.
You should have a really big grin on your face, while the person next to you is wondering what kind of car that is. :-)
