what first?

ok guys...
i think i finally sold my 300ZX and now it's time to get the TL-S w/navi
i am definitely getting tint done right when i get it but what next?

i am going to get an Injen CAI, headers, springs and all that good stuff at some point

but what would you guys get first?
i am trying to figure out what would be the most beneficial right off the bat (after break in) and i'm trying to see how much money i will need to save

btw i'm not a n00b, i've been here for a while i just changed my name

sorry for the semi-lengthy post

thanks,
Andrew

Beneficial how? Looks or performance? Springs for looks and handling, CAI and headers for performance....can't really go wrong with any one of those.

i read on another post that alot of people go in this order

1.suspension- springs, sways etc.,
2.engine- cai, headers etc
3. Rims and tires

But I dont think it really matters, i just got my TL-S and if i had the money to do stuff to it right now id get a CAI and then drop it.

I dont know, in my opinion springs and sways help the performance of out TL's out a ton.

i agree with jd7. i find that the suspension of the TL needs the most help. dollar for dollar i think you'll improve your handling with springs much more than you'll improve your hp numbers with cai or headers. but in the end, it's whatever floats your boat the best.

I would recommend you do springs first, then headers if you can afford it, if not...then get CAI. Springs are the best visual and performance upgrade in one package. Not only will you be able to corner faster, but your car won't look like an SUV. If you have some money lying around, I would recommend Tein Coilovers so you can adjust your height if you rims, body kit, or sound system. Comptechs are not bad either if you do not want to worry too much about rubbing or scraping the ground.

Why drop it first? The manager at a local speedshop suggested getting the rims first before dropping my car. But you say the opposite....just curious why....I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. However it does seem like it would be easier/cheaper to get the right springs for your rims than to match the rims to your springs. The same manager also told me that coilovers tend make alot of noise on hills and dips. Is this true?

Depends on if you have money for rims. If you drop it first you can pimp it...even though you just have stock rims. As far as coilovers making noise...keep in mind that Tein Coilovers are real coilovers. The shocks were made for the springs so they work with each other perfectly. The squeaking is from using a shock that can't handle the drop of a spring. Fake coilovers are like ground control. You get adjustable springs but need to buy shocks. I don't know...correct me if I'm wrong.

There is a groupbuy in effect...$925 shipped. Go to Acura-cl.com.

Honestly I do not know...I can tell you how good the Comptechs are...and other people say the H&R and Eibach are stiffer than Comptechs. Go to Acura-CL.com and ask.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter which one's first.
Maybe that guy makes more porfit on rims over springs.
