What does the claybar do for ur car?
it's like the first step prior to waxing your car. the clay removes contaminants stuck to your clearcoat, and leaves behind (hopefully) a smoother finish than before you started. you then can do a swirl remover or glaze before you go ahead with the wax. the consumer clay kits, from mothers or meguiars, come with their detailing spray which is used as the lubricant on which the claybar glides. as long as you keep kneading the clay to a cleaner part, keep the surface wet with spray and don't rub to hard...there is really nothing you can do wrong.
even if you didn't intend on waxing your car afterwards...you should/must!!!

so how much do these clay kits cost? i'm in a very tite budget, hey i'm onli 16 with no job! and y do i have lil small scratches on my paint or is it the clear coat? how do i get that off? whats the cause it it? i use one of those mittens thing that are soft and a chamios to dry it, I don't see what i'm doing wrong
the kits cost about $20 and the clay bar is big enough for like 3 cars. check out a local auto parts store.
if you have swirls, more than likely it's jsut the clearcoat. you can buy swirl remover compound to get that out...it doesn't remove them, but instead, fills the scratches before you wax making them "disappear".
no one cannot get swirl marks into the car! you know how you are suppose to hose off the dirt...well, not every single bit is gonna come off. plus that dirt that has been soaked by rain/water but is now dry...that is not going to come off by rinsing.
