my friend's 90 supra needed bearings in the rear and it sounded like grinding metal. plus it wouldnt happen only on turns but would happen whenever the car was moving. i dont think its the bearings

My 96 needed new wheel bearings before I purchased it. It really sounded like a bunch of tire noise, and it got louder when I turned a certain way. The dealership replaced it and there was still noise, just not as much. Then they replaced the other bearing. I haven't had any problems since then. That was at 90k.

He meant when the tires turn, not when the car turns. The same thing is happening to me. The dealer said that it was noise from the tires....ahhh bulls**t. What they didn't know was that the tires were only 2 weeks old. Plus it was doing it with my old tires different brand. I'll take it back before I run out of warranty. 48,000+ miles right now.

damn, i thought for sure it was the tires. i figured one of them developed a soft spot since i hit it up last year. im putting my new tires on tomorrow and hopefully it'll go away.
yeah, i meant when the tire rotates. i personally doubt its a bearing. i have to make a real effort to hear it

Something tells me, that the brakes are making the noise. The noise only comes from the front. Our brakes only have one(or two not sure) pistons, so there is an off brake drag sometimes....I don't know...maybe someone else is this board knows more about that stuff.
