Question what do you use to clean your tires?

I apologize if this has been discussed previously.

I currently use Meguiars #40. It works well enough and is easy to apply, but does not hold up well once it gets wet. I am looking for something that goes on easy AND will hold up better when it rains.

I tried another product that was more of a gel and could not be sprayed on the tire, but had to be applied with a cloth. Although it works better than Meguiars, it is a much bigger pain to apply. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a difference between tire cleaner and tire dressing.

Something like Black Magic leaves a residue on the tire, making it look even more dirty after the shine goes away.

I use Wesley White Wall cleaner to clean the tire. Than any tire dressing; eagle one, black magic, etc.

I use simple green to clean the tire, and I've found that 3M Tire Dressing works the best, although a little pricey at $15 a bottle, but it holds up for a long time and doesn't fling on the side of the car........I highly recommend it.

Wanted to thank you guys for the help.

My problem is I broke my foot 2 weeks ago so I cannot really brush down my tires, so I needed something that either would last or was easy to apply. Well I've got the "easy to apply" part nailed.

I went to Pep Boys yesterday and picked up Black Magic Tire Wet Foam. I sprayed in on when I got back to work, and when I left work yesterday evening the tires looked great! How long it lasts remains to be seen, but at least it's easy to apply, so that's good enough for me right now.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

just so you know, whenever that crap gets on your rims, it creates a nasty mess.... or at least for me it always did. I like to put it on a cloth and wipe it on to avoid overspray on the rims/paint.

I know this post is a few months old but I have a question. I'm looking for a good clean shine for the tires but I don't want the product to spin off my tires and on to my paint (like the silicone stuff). Is 3m the only product that will give me a good shine with out the mess?

I think it's called White-Wall something (probably isn't good for the wheels when it drips) I can't remember but it smells like clorox. Gets them very clean then I hit them with Black Magic.

Another vote for the Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance. I love it. Easy to apply, and lasts a long time....
