I feel brakes are the most important part of the car- especially since the wife brought the last car home 2 feet shorter.

Accordingly I bought from our sponsoring vendor MrHeelToe- see the Off Topic Sponsored Sales or www.heeltoeauto.com for special combo deals on rotors and Hawk pads

See my avatar
www.racingbrake.com 1 piece vented rotors UP=Ultra Performance
Heat treated, Special Alloy, Patented trick curved inner cooling vanes make them the shiiiite

On the cheap- go that way on the front and NAPA american made rotors on the rear $18 each with Hawk HPS pads-$58. Or NAPA rotors all around- not the import one- get the USA ones
Good solid combo and save on rear because not as much force there

www.hawkperformance.com for everything about pads you should know

I don't think cross drilled is really necessary for our cars.. if you do get big brake rotors kits then cross drilled is fine. when drilling a million holes on an OE rotor it takes weight out of a rotor. Heavy rotors dissipate heat, that is why race cars have big slotted rotors that weight a ton. Most of the TL drivers here have rotora slotted rotors, and I for one can vouch for them. Sure they are more expensive than ebay rotors but, they are quality products that actually well known. They run for about $200-250 a pair shipped ebay rotors though I definately would not recommend they will probably end up with hairline cracks after heavy braking.

Import V

Perhaps we can get together at a one day driving school at a track down there, would like to do a side by side comparison of Rotora/EBC vs Racing Brake/Hawk

I shout it from the mountain top
Racing Brake blows away the competition
see the website and understand why

Racing Brakes price thru MrHeelToe for fronts is $306 with Hawk HPS pads shipped to your door. The pads alone locally are almost 100, and good rotors 85 each, so yes- for a few dollars more-you do get what you pay for.

As I said before- wife brought the last car home 2 feet shorter- ie: Totalled the Maxima because it needed just a little better brakes or a little more room to stop before that freeway accident

I do have the RBs on my car, 2001 TL, and can say as a race driver and mechanic- these are the best rotors I have ever used. Great on the street- clean and quiet- just have to warm them a little bit, and awesome does not describe.

And they even have a directional arrow cast into the side + written instructions and pic
Technology my friends, is what sets them apart
read the website www.racingbrake.com
now try rotora.com- no info at all

ive seen some cars (i.e. M-Benz C-Class, etc) have only drilled rotors in the front, and normal discs in the back. anyone know why? i was thinking practicality, but then again im a noob.

Reality is that with weight transfer- the front brakes do 70 percent of the work
Heavy cars need bigger brakes and properly made ones with cooling of various types

You can run slotted on the front of a TL with standard rotors in the back no problem
Hawk pads at both end make the car stop

Cheap rotors that have been drilled are more likely to have heat transfer issues
