What could have caused this?
So, yesterday morning I went to McDonalds drive through to pick up breakfast, and I was told to wait in the pick up area. I didn't turn off the engine and after 10 minutes, I put the car in neutral (from D5) and the engine stopped. Tried starting it again, it didn't start. Tried after 5 minutes, it started. Anyone know what could have caused this? I am afraid now if it stops again.

did you notice if the engine temp had gone up?

engine restart issues
Have you had any recent problems with runability or check engine light being on ? The previous posts of an overheating situation or the neutral safety switch are good places to start. Has your idle been erratic lately ? Is your battery and electrical system functioning well ? As RC99TL suggested, try to duplicate the problem at home and see if the cooling fan comes on after idling awhile. If you had your ac on, it could be your alternator getting finicky. Your local autoparts store will check the charging system for free. These cars have had neutral safety interlock problems, usually moving the shifter around between park & neutral or jiggling the ignition switch key on & off while depressing the brake pedal will get it to start if in a pinch. Good luck, as i know the feeling of being stranded !

Thanks for all for the responses.
RC99TL, I tried it few time at home, it didn't happen.
fsttyms1, engine temp didn't go up, it always stays at 40% on the gauge.
3.2TLc, absolutely no problems or symptoms with the car.
What happens if neutral safety switch goes bad?
