If you want a car that you can actually carry people in then go with the TL. TL also has a lot more class and gadgets than the RSX.
The RSX is fun to drive, handles nice but I found the power to be a bit lacking (in the non-TypeS version). RSX also doesn't sound that nice when you get on it, its okay, but needs a bit of tweaking. I think there are more aftermarket parts available for the RSX (and at more reasonable prices) than the TL.

Hope that helps.

I have a 2000 Tl and my girl has a 2003 rsx both non S. The TL is awsome inside and out, drives great. The RSX looks good and it is reallly fun to drive, like a little sports car should, but it has NO power. This car would be perfect if it was faster. I've never drove a type S but if I were to buy a RSX i would defintly buy a S. The RSX is small, but because the seats fold down you can put a lot more shlt in the car then the trunk of the TL(like snowbaords or other big item).

one thing to consider also. I love my TL-S but girls could care less about the car and really dont know what it is.(when i get them inside it's all over though w/ the navi and heated leather) the stupid dealer loaner RSX accually got me a few #s on the freeway, Go figure.

Since you are 16 get the tl. Remember, you need the much larger back seat!!!

Thumbs up

I am going to have to say go for the TL. More room for you and your friends...or possibly four more females???? A 4:1 ratio is wonderful when you are sixteen. Heck it is wonderful at any age:diablotin Just my $0.02

I figure the younger you are, the smaller car you want cuz of handling and fun factor. the more room, the more people might ask for rides . also the rsx might be better on gas then the TL. younger people have less money to waste on gas.

thats my opinion. i might be wrong.
The TL is a perfect car thou. i love it to death.

Yeah, all your buddies will be asking for rides if you have the TL. I'd say the RSX is a good choice at 16.

I wish I had this decision to make when I was 16...

Ya i think the TL, unless modded externally looks like your dads car rather than the RSX which is obviously for younge people... Get the RSX for now, I dont know about the repair costs of RSX but i know that a TL is expensive if **** goes wrong with it.. just spend 2 bills on a head light :S.

my first car was an 89 RX-7 and the best thing I loved about it was I could only drive 1 other person, no back seat. I liked that because I wasn't forced to drive all the time, someone else always drove.

tl's alot nicer in my opinion tho...i get so many compliments on my car...somem people even tell me i got the nicest car in the school...even tho half of them drive beemers and benz's (stock of course)....the most modded rsx in my school doesnt even get as much attention....

and about that backseat and haivng to drive all your friends....not one of my problems...

You must get a lot of surprised faces when people open your 4-door sedan and see there are no back seats. Thats not a bad idea...does it look right? Got anymore shots?

lol...of course it doesnt look right...someone stopped me in school inbetween class and ask if someone stole my rear seats...the real reason their out is cause i was looking at something back there...but ive been too lazy to put it back in because i need to do some wiring bakc there later anyway....and also i dont have to give me freinds rides anymore plus i get alot better bass coming into the cabin...its like haveing a hatchback!

get the freakin TL man.. it's true about the RSX.. i drove an RSX as a loaner and my girlfriend liked it more than my TL because it was "cuter".. i'm like, yeah, but 65 less HP, less class, worse system, no heated seats.. are you kidding? no contest, work for the TL dude.. it's more of a man's ride.. plus girls love $$ and the TL looks more like you roll in it
