What bulbs do you use in your High Beams?

Hey guys,

I got 6000K Head Lights and Fogs, and I get annoyed every time I have to put my High Beams on, and this ugly Yellow Beam shoots out!! EWW!! I was going to replace the bulbs with something that matches the 6000K setup. Now, I know most of you guys, have the 4300K setup in the lows, but what about those of you who have the 6000K in the lows? What bulb matches that color intensity the best??

IMHO your stuck w/ halogen.(and that yellowish color) here's why, HID in your highbeams would look great but you'd have to deal w/ the warm-up period when you pulled the highbeam switch.
And a blue tinted bulb will fill your high beam pod w/ blue during the day cheapening your car to look like a riced civic(slightly but still)

BTW if you find the perfect solution let me know

I use Solaris. They were a very close match to my stock HIDs, but since I have the 6000K they don't match anymore. They are brighter than the stock and are within a safe wattage range that the housing can handle (55W or something)

Alexxxx.. are they worth buying? I know that even when I put a 4300K HID BULB next to my 6000K it looked like it was HALOGEN!! So I mean should I just keep my stock bulbs or will the solaris actually be better then what I have?

I have the Eaglite high beams with the bluish color and I like the look too of the reflection. You can only really see it looking head on. I ordered the 1157's for the corner markers so they too will match now. Got Eaglite fogs too and they match the HID's very well. I love them.

since were talking about bulbs I have a question. NYDesi80, sorry for stealing your post!
What bulbs do the BMW 5 and 7 series have? I still don't know the difference between bulbs. I thought the 6000k was brighter, but I read that the 6000k was brighter looking but doesn't illuminate the ground better. I like the way the BMW 5 & 7 series look.

NYDesi80, check out my album for the comparisons

njtls, it's not worth it unless you live in an area where there's no street lights and not a lot of traffic

goldendragon576, their is not brighter. It's more blinding since it's a projector. The BMWs illuminates the road closer to the car compared to the TL, our reflector headlights illuminate the roads farther, but if you want something close then upgrade your fogs with HIDs.

Not really. I chose Solaris for the name and safety (so my wiring wouldn't melt from a higher wattage bulb). I've had them for about 1.5 years, they still work and are brighter than stock.

I use the PIAA Xtreme White Plus although not really happy with them because still look a little yellowish when they are not suppose to at a supposedly 4000K. The visibility however is damn awesome compared to stock when driving.

Just remember about the wattage, you don't want to melt anything (if you keep it on for quite some time)
