waxing and scratches Q
Hi there, I just showered and waxed my car.. with meguiars gold class wax
( i know its not zaino )
After I waxed it, I looked very closely at the paint, and there are all these micro swirly scratches on my trunk... is that bad?
second, i was using california blade too quick and i hit, scratched, the black paint with the side of the hard part of the california blade, and there is a small faint grey looking scratch...
i need helpp....:o :o

NSX Next is correct, a clay bar does nothing for scratches,
as far as swirl marks go:
NSXNEXT is also correct there. I use a klasse/3m system to get rid of swirl marks.
wash car (zymol clear auto bathe for me, but any will do)
clay if necessary
3m Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Cars
Klasse AIO
Klasse SG - two coats.
the 3m stuff is great.
Zymol HD Cleanse followed by Zymol Carbon Wax is another great way to reduce swirls. IMO the 3m smr does a little bit better job.
I have a jet black car (shows everything) with 110,000 miles, lots of swirls and imperfections

i have a question about swirl marks removers........will if get rid of all the swirls to the point where it will look like a mirror or will it only reduce some of the visable swirls .... and at the same time will this product remove oxidation ?

3m SMR is a good example of a middle ground smr, it contains mid-grade abrasives, not overly harsh, with some fillers, and reduces swirls without taking off too much clearcoat. It also functions as a cleaner to remove some oxidation, but IMO it doesn't do as good a job as a dedicated paint cleaner like Zymol HD-Cleanse (also removes swirls), or Klasse AIO (HD Cleanse is better)
Part of the reason I use so much crap is beacuse Im a bit obsessive about it, part of the reason is that I like to use what I think is the best product for each job.
So the short answer is, yes.. 3m smr will reduce the appearance of swirls, and function as a cleaner. As long as you throw some carnuba over the top as protectant, I think your good to go. IMO Klasse AIO is better at removing oxidation and klasse SG sits better and is easier to remove when sitting over AIO than when sitting over just 3m smr.
What products do you use NSX Pilot... and what color is your nsx... I love that car.
BTW 3m finesse it II is an example of a more abrasive smr.
Lately I've been getting most of my stuff from this website, they have everything except zaino
