Waxing?
Is there any recommendation as to when I should apply wax? I've tried to obtain the information from other sources, such as Acura, and the interval ranges between 3 to 6 months.
I know I'm being over-protective, but I also wnnt the finish to "cure" correctly.

It's already May and your car probably was built in Feb. The paint is the first thing on the body.. so I think You should be fine waxing it now.
Before you wax it, check for rail dust particles on the hood and roof. Use your fingernail and run it gently accross the paint. I had that on my car.. the very first time I waxed it, those things really stood out. I thought it was because I waxed it too soon but I was mistaken.
Clay bar worked for me, and then I re-waxed. Then it was smooth how it should have been.

Vin says 2001, but it's really a 2000 with an upgraded cupholder!!

Ummm, when I worked in a body shop years ago...We would recommend waiting at least 3 months before applying wax. Although we would buff the finish with a high grade polish right out of the booth.
I don't see a polish hurting your finish if you want to use one, but def. wait on the wax it seals the paint not allowing for proper curing time. Big no no

Thanks for the advice - I don't see doing anything but gentle washing until July! The nutsy local landscapers and their cyclonic blowers will create enough havoc!!!

Not a Blowhole
4 times a year is fine, but modern paints use much loss VOC's (volatile organix compounds) and some are even water based, so the old adages about waiting x-months is pretty much a thing of the past.

I agree with Road Rage waiting to wax is a thing of the past. This should only be done if the car was in an accident & the car was repainted. Dealers & other places like Zeibart Tidy Car are ready to apply sealant when the car is new. I think if you can wax it 3 or 4 times a year thats good. If you can wash the car twice a week thats real good.
