"Wax-on, wax-off!"
I bought my 'S' in May...I haven't waxed it yet. Has anybody put a little carnuba and elbow grease to their 2002 yet? How long did you wait before you waxed it? The Service guy told me at least 6-8 months. Just curious...I don't want my "satin-silver" to come off on the towel!

Wow, you haven't waxed it since you bought it? I picked mine up Monday, July 31 and stripped the wax, claybarred and re-waxed the car that Saturday. Since then I have about 12 coats of wax on the car. I personally use Mother's now, but I'm thinking of switching to Zaino since it's supposed to last longer......

I took my car to a detailer a month after I bought it. Even after that
I still had extremely rough paint (for being brand new). A month later
I clay barred it and rewaxed it (just with cheap mothers) and it made
a huge difference. For some reason the car came out extremely dirty
with a lot of grime embedded in the paint. Clay bar is a MUST! Atleast,
on my Satin Silver. Now I just keep it up with a bottle of Zaino Z2 and
it stays clean much longer and still feels very smooth. I was really
amazed how much dirt was stuck in the paint though, even after a
machine buffing.

The factory paint job needs to cure 30 days prior to waxing. I waxed 45 days later and several times after. Since then I have stripped all the wax off and tried Zaino - I won't be going back to wax!!!
If you don't want to spend the initial time to get Zaino applied (count on a weekend being shot) then go with a good wax like P21S paste wax - easy to put on and take off.
If you don't want to wash you car every 3 days - go with Zaino it doesn't attract the dirt near as much as wax
Wax - wash every 3 days
Zaino - 2 weeks before getting close to 2 days dust build up with wax.
