I had the same questions, so I emailed a company that does the mod --www.streeteffectz.com
here is what i got back:
The decoder is $150, another $150 to modify it and $150 to install it.
You also need an RF modulator for sound which runs $75 (this is
to play audio through the factory head unit)
There might be a better deal somewhere...
