Washer fluid... help

Hello all,
I was re-filling my washer fluid last night, somehow I remember I saw or heard somewhere that I need to mix it with 50% water, so I did that. Guess what? today all my friends are making fun of me by doing this stupid thing... anyhow, that won't harm the car right? One of my friend said to me that as long as i finish it before winter then i'll be fine. Ya?

thanks.

i would imagine it wont hurt the car as long as you do finish it by winter, because as we all know water expands when it freezes so if half of it was water and it froze you might break the well in which the fluid is stored. other than that you might just have some weak washer fluid.

Wait! That sounds right to me. I know this is gonna sound lame, but read the label on your fluid and tell us what it says. I guess I could have been thinking about anti-freeze, though.

wat kinda washing fluid did u put in??? regular fluid or automotive fluid... most auto washing fluid has a little antifreeze in it so it don't freeze during the winter... as for the water if ur washing fluid has antifreeze in it u don't have to worry cause it will mix together... if it is regular washing fluid then u just gotta finish it before the temps hit freezing point...

THanks for all the replies. I believe it has anti freeze in it, cuz it says something like "-40C" on the label. Neither label or car manual tell you to mix it with water, so I don't really know.
When I was filling it, some of it got onto my hand, I could feel the there are lots of alchohol in it....

so guys do i mix or not mix? still confusing.

BTW, it reads "washer fluid" on the label, not anti-freeze.

50/50 mix is for coolant in some cars. Washer fluid should be put in straight from the jug--no mix necessary.

Just read the label! Some fluids are ready to use, and some require mixing. If you paid less than $2.00, probably you did not have to mix it.

The Rain X brand has a summer & a winter washer fluid.
I mean that one protects from lower freezingt temps than the other.
The De-icer kind protects from freeze down to a -25 & the Bug Remover protects to 30 degress. I think many kinds are already mixed. I do remeber back some years ago that you did have to mix washer fluid in the summer with water.
