Warped Rotor question
My car just turned 9000 mi. and I think i am starting to feel that the brakes are starting to warp. I have been babying them due to all of the complaints on here but i guess it didnt help at all. My question is, when i take her in for the upcoming oil change, what do i do to get them to do the free turning? Do I just casually mention it, or do I have to basically tell them that this is a known problem and that I know that they will turn them for free? Basically what has your guys experience been? How did you get them to do the free turning? Thanks guys

Three Wheelin'
In my case, I only have the problem when the rotors have heated up (driving for hours). When I brought my car to the dealer, I told the service consultant that the steering wheel will starting shaking when I apply the brake after driving for approximately 1-2 hours. He pretty much knew the problem and told me he would take care of it.
When I picked up the car, they installed new front pads but only resurface the front rotors.
Word of caution when you pick up the car after installing new pads and rotors. The front brake will not work as good. Becareful when you start driving away from the lot.
Basically the dealers know the issue. If they start to hasitate, show them the TSB.
Cheers !!!

Unless your dealer is *very* generous..they'll probably just re-surface your rotors..and maybe some new pads. But they're just gonna eventually warp again..so just save yourself all the trouble and get some aftermarket rotors. I would suggest slotted Rotora w/Axxis pads. Good luck!

I don't get it with this warped rotor problem. Everyone here reports that their rotors are warped every 10,000 miles -- some even less. It is considered to be an inherant problem with the TL.
My 2003 TL-S just turned 20,000 miles (after 1 year) and it does not have any sign of warped rotors. I admittedly do mostly freeway driving, although it is in a very busy part of L.A. (405 fwy between Long Beach and Santa Monica) and rarely ever get free stretches without braking. Moreover, my stock tires have no bubbles and very little wear thus far. I just don't get it -- is my car special or do you guys drive way crazy and beat the hell outta your rigs?????
