Want to do custom Exhaust, but need help

Ok i am going to do a custom cat back exhaust when i get my headers. My question is, do i go with 2.5 inch piping or 3 inch piping. Will i loose lots of torque with the three inch piping? I realy want to loose as little torque as possible while gaining some horses up high. Would you guys reccomend i go with a Borla exhaust, or will that be too loud? I know how the HKS sounds and the comptech and i love the HKS, so that is an option too. Another question is, for the ammount of money that i will be spending on this custom setup, is it worth it? What can i gain from going cat back versus just mufflers. I know mufflers will net like 2 horses and sound, but i want some real gains if i will be paying the money already. If i do a full cat back i was quoted at 750 for 2 Borla Pro XS mufflers, 2.5 or 3 inch piping all the work and whatever tips i want on them. Or i can just get the HKS for 475 plus shipping. I dont mind spending the extra money. I rather go with HKS and a cat back setup, but i want to know if i will feel the difference. Thanks and sorry for such a long post.

The stock exhaust is pretty efficient, so I doubt you'll realize big gains regardless of the system you chose. Customizing your ride is another story and completely your call. If you want to spend the $$ for Borla, go ahead. It is high quality stuff. I went with Magnaflow and like the sound although it is louder than the Comptech set up. On the other hand, They were $340 installed which freed up $ for other stuff. Headers are the ticket if you really want to see gains. Bottom line is whatever turns your crank, do it.

I am doing it a this place called lorenzos. They are very good at doing a lot of cutom work. The piping will be mandrel bent.

3" piping is too much, try 2.25 or 2.5

Bro, where were you today? I called your cell but no one picked up. I called you to go to the mini-meet to install my 6000k HIDs. Oh well, it was fun. Check it out:

BTW, let me know what's up with the exhausts. I want a catback too but hopefully it won't be that expensive.

before I got my Borla's nobody gave me any advice, but I went with them anyways. I'm happy with them for the most part. First, they give the car a more manly sound. Second the mid-range torque is outstanding. 3rd they look nicer. However, the sound is louder some days more than others, and at times annoying, though never too loud. I haven't noticed any improvement in my gas mileage that was claimed. And they could be shinier, that matte finish doesn't match the stock tips. If I could do it all over again, the only thing I'd change is to make the installers shine them up before installation. They say the Borla's shine like stainless steel after a little steel wool and some mother polish. But mine have yet to shine like that. But they work fine.
