Question Wanna upgrade my H.I.D.S

i wanna upgrade my hid kit to an 8000k, so does this mean that i have to buy new bulbs and ballast for my headlamps, or can i just buy the 8000k bulb and it will just plug-and play to the factory ballast. please help me out.

how do you like them? are they really bright and is there a big difference when comparing them to the stock hid kit that comes with the tl?

theres definately a difference between the 8000k and stock but when going higher than 6000k you are actually loosing light output

Most people can not tell the difference. I had 8000k on a 1st gen, and thought they were brighter than the 6500k I have on my 2nd gen. It seems to be a small difference. I would love to have that cool blue again, but I wanted to make sure that my bulbs were true D2R and had the small reflector stip on the bulb. Some of the one's I looked at said D2R, but did not have the strip.

check out xenondepot.com too

The black ring around D2R bulbs blocks out unwanted light and helps control glare. The reflector lenses the TL has can't control D2S bulbs as well.

The best combination for both color and light output would be Philips 6000k bulbs (which are actually ~5800k). This is the maximum color temp produced by any OEM suppliers (Osram/Sylvania, Philips, Bosch, Hella, etc.). The 8000k bulbs you see are probably tinted bulbs, and if not, they're by no-name companies and I wouldn't trust them.

4200k (stock) is the best illumination. 6000k Philips bulbs sacrifices a small amount of illumination for more color. Anything higher and output drops off fast.

Yes, for optimum color and light output, Philips 6000k cannot be beat.

I don't have them because illumination is important to me (more so than color), so I keep mine stock.

autoaccessorystore.com

they dont have an pic, but they are chrome and come with double sided 3m tape so u can easily stick them on and they are as hell to come off.

It may look brighter but they will actually produce LESS useable light than the stock 4300
