well I know that when I've hit like 4000 RPM, there's no sign of VTEC. That might be a little late, I think mine does come on before 5k RPM, but I wouldn't worry about it. So long as you still feel your car pulling, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it.

Should be 4800 on the TL-S. I think it's 4600 for the TL-P

that sounds wayyyyy too low to engage. I know that in my '03 TL-S, I still have that (whooooooooooooosh) sound coming from my exhausts in the back, and there is no sign of v-tec until I near 4500 RPM.

3500? do you have a VTEC controller? If so, then it would make sense, otherwise all I would wanna know is, how's your gas mileage? I pretty much hit 3500 RPM everytime I come off the line, so that would bring me into thinking my gas mileage would be like 180 miles per tank.

How can you tell when the VTEC is being engaged?

if you know your car, you will hear the VTEC. It sounds like your engine all of the sudden is roaring. Trust me, you will know when it's on. Simply floor the gas, and listen to the engine at around 5k RPM, then come back to us and tell us how it was!!!

just sit back, relax, and enjoy the VTEC experience.
