Visor Lights

I ordered the LED's for my climate control, cruise control, sun roof, and clock. I have already replaced the lights in the doors and the overhead dome light. But, what I want to know is if anyone has replaced their visor lights that are on either side of the vanity mirrors. I was driving down the road tonight and my girlfriend was looking in the vanity mirror and I noticed the aweful yellow lights and thought to myself how much better they would look hyperwhite... Anyone done this and if so is there a DIY? Thanks!

This is a good question, one I have been wondering for years, but for some reason never checked on. They use fuse type bulbs which use a thin filament that runs through them. If there is no direct replacement I imagine something could be fabricated that integrates a resistor and touches down both pos and neg, but I'm not sure if that would work for that connection type. Interesting thought...

There is no LED replacement for the vanity mirror bulbs. You'd be pretty hard pressed to even find an incandesant replacement from your auto parts store. But there's no reason a led can be wired in. Shouldn't be very difficult.

But there has to be something we can do about the ugly ass yellow lights right? I mean I see people on here doing some crazy things with LEDs and some very inventive stuff on here and no one can come up with a way to kill the yellow?

here's a quick way to get rid of the yellow........ just take the damn bulbs out. Your girlfriend and my wife should do there makeup at home that's why they got all the damn space in the bathroom. Plus if she needs the light that means its nighttime and if that's the case no one is going to notice if she messes up.

Ok I'm done venting.

Just an update to my earlier question...

We can get some LEDs that will fit in the visor. However, they are SUPER expensive. It would cost you around $50 to replace all 4 visor lights.

I was wondering if you all had thought about coming up with some way to replace the ugly yellow visor lights in the Acura's. I am looking all over the internet and I can't find a single bulb to even replace the ones that are in there now let alone a blue one to match the rest of my car... The code around the top and the bottom of the bulb (which looks more like a long cylindrical fuse) is: 14V01A-BLC

Just an update on these, I'm doing an entire LED conversion and then some in an RSX this weekend and they wanted to change out the factory light in the glove box. So i went online to http://superlumination.com/festoon.htm where I normally order interior bulbs and looked for the smallest festoon type bulb I could find. I came across these at $7.99 a piece, not cheap but not bad for a bulb with 3 LEDs in it.

My order came in today and I tested all the lights by plugging them into my car; on a whim I checked to see if these would fit the vanity mirrors and they fit perfectly, and IMHO I think they look pretty damn good.

Here is a direct link to a picture of one:

Here is a pic with one installed in my mirror with a factory light in for comparison:

Not too bad if you're serious about a total LED conversion or just have an extra $40 you don't really need. I'm about done with mine and may just buy some of these when I'm finished for the hell of it.

I didn't even think that changing the lights in the cruise control, sun roof, and clock was possible. Or does it depends on the year and type of the Acura. Any chance you know if there is anything for a 08 Acura TL?
