Vibration when braking from 55+ MPH

Recently my 03 TL-S with 30K miles steering was vibrating pretty harshly when braking from 55+ MPH. Took it to dealer and pointed them to the various post on Acurazine on this issue and also to TSB01017. Dealer griped at first and stated this is wear and tear item but in the end they resurfaced rotors and replaced with new brake pads under "Good Will".

Thanks to all the folks that have posted feedback on this issue.

And many thanks to Acura for fixing this issue even tough they did not admit to faulty parts or design on their Acura!!

woow !!! You were lucky to get "new brake" done under warranty at 30k miles. Most of the dealers would just smile at you and say, "You are SOL"

I had the same issue recently and my car had around the same milage. They replaced my completely with rotors and pads. Then the very next day i replaced those with brembo rotors and axxis semi metallic pads.

same thing happend to me, but instead of takin it to the dealer, i took it to my uncles shop got brand new brembo rotars and new raybesto's pads for $550,how much did the dealer charge you to resurface them? around 600?

Resurfacing rotor's doesn't solve the warped rotor problem. When your rotors are heated by use again and again your warped rotors will come up again. By re-surfacing them there is less thickness in the rotor to abosrb the heat. So my estimate is in about 10k miles you will be at your dealer again with warped rotors.

Eventually you will need to purchase better quality rotors and use ceramic or OEM pads. Make sure that whoever tightens the lugnuts are using a torque wrench and not an airgun. Over torqued lugnuts warp rotors easily and break in the rotors and pads with easy to moderate breaking for 500miles.

550 :wow: I paid under 400 for all 4 drilled and slotted irotors and axxis ultimates (which SUCK). put them on around 125k and am nearing 200k now and they are still warp free
