Vehicle Build Dates

anyone know how to tell when a 2001 TL was built by using VIN or code on window sticker ?? I don't want to get a vehicle that has been sitting 6 months. Some of the vehicles have thick rust covering the brake rotors. thanks

The rust covering the brake rotors were caused by the rain. It doesn't mean that the car has been sitting in the lot for 6 months.

Just make sure it's NOT built in America on a Monday . . . like mine!! (I know they're all built in the USA. Had I known that I would have checked the car out more carefully or bought another car!)

I don't think you can tell by the VIN # but i think it says inside the door panel.

Don't worry about it... i doubt there is any TL been sitting in a lot for more than 6 months.
